Reiki
What is Usui Reiki?
Reiki is an original method of healing which was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan early in the 20th century. Reiki is activated by intention and works on the mind, body and spirit.
The Japanese word Reiki means ‘Universal Energy’ and Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being. You may also recognise this as chi or prana (life force energy). Acupuncture, T’ai chi and Yoga are also based on the free-flow of this energy in a person.
What Happens?
After an initial consultation and assessment of your energy, the Practitioner will place their hands either on or above the body, usually working from the head to the feet. You will either lie down (fully clothed) or if you are unable to lie down then this treatment can be carried out sitting in a chair.
You may feel warmth, cold or an "energetic sensation" from the energy that the practitioner is channeling to you - most people just drift off into a wonderfully relaxed state! This energy is then used by the body for self healing - It re-balances your energy system allowing your body to work at its correct level.
The benefits gained are unique to the individual - many have felt invigorated, refreshed, re-energised and vibrant. Alternatively others have felt calm, relaxed, chilled out and ready to face the world. We have also found that Reiki is particularly beneficial to pregnant mothers as it can re-energise and balance the body allowing "Mum" to feel invigorated again!
This is a non invasive treatment aiming to achieve wholeness and balance. Reiki uses the highest form of loving energy and with this in mind, can only be used in a positive manner.
All Usui Reiki practitioners at the Crystal Balance Company hold a lineage from Mikao Usui and Chujiro Hayashi to comply with the UK Reiki Federation.
Karuna Reiki
Having been taught directly by William Lee-Rand, the founder of Karuna Reiki, we can also offer this High Vibration modality. Karuna Reiki has been described as being a slightly more refined version of Usui Reiki - enabling the practitioner to focus on specific aspects for the client.
